Can Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) Used to Make Smart Glass?
These days some customers ask us weather Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) ( also name as PLEXIGLAS and acrylic ) used to Make Smart Glass. And the answer is NO.
The reason is that the acrylic can not stand temperature more than 80 degrees. And most EVA Interlayer film will need the temperature of more than 80 degrees to react.
If the temperature is more than 80 degrees, because of thermal expansion, the laminated acrylic with switchable film would have bubbles.
